The practice: Movement, Meditation & Matcha The Tibetan Rites, Dragon Dance Yoga, Yin & Yang Yoga and Meditation. After practice we enjoy Matcha, the Japanese green tea with an abundance of health in it. The meals are vegetarian food, after meals it is pool time, time to enjoy life, breathe and feel. At the same time, you will come to life by feeling the warmth of the sun, take in the lush surroundings, let go of everyday life at home and live the good life while the energy in the body calms down and is replenished. Ahhh, the luxury of doing nothing, how good it feels.

These simple rituals have great health rewarding effects and you will feel strengthened both physically and mentally. The Tibetan rites are built up along the way from starting with five repetitions on day 1 which we gradually increase day by day throughout the stay. The yoga will be light, no advanced poses, easy does it.

In addition to the morning practice, we will also practice Breathwork and Yin/Restorative Yoga in the evenings. You will learn about the Tibetan Rites, where they come from, what they actually do to the body, and you will take home a booklet for inspiration for further practice.

Your yoga teacher is Maria Djoenne from Bergen/Norway. Experienced, trained in different styles of yoga and with more than ten years of teaching experience. You are in good hands.


Of course, we will go on a trip to Marrakech where we wander around the market. Perhaps we will divide into smaller groups, according to interest. Some want to shop for carpets and lamps, others wish to spend time in the museums, while others agian want to discover the beautiful gardens hidden behind anonymous doors around the city. 

Particularly famous is the garden that Yves Saint Laurent and his partner Pierre Bergè bought and saved from being razed to the ground in favor of a new asphalt road. A beautiful garden that the French artist Jacques Majorelle bought in 1923 and laid out as a park around the house he had built. Well worth a visit. In 2017, the YSL museum opened next to the Jardin Majorelle, a beautiful, calming museum designed by the modern architectural agency Studio KO. The exhibition is a "must see" for anyone who enjoyes fashion, art and creativity, fantastically beautiful.


At Bab Zouina, our home away from home, we have a pool, womderful gardens, a hammam for scrub and massage, and cozy areas both inside and outside for the days when we stay at home and just relax. You should have enough time to enjoy lazy hours where not much else happens other than sunbathing, reading, etc. WIFI only available in the reception. Enjoy this retreat as time off from Instagram, e-mails and Facebook. A digital light detox.



During the retreats to Bab Zouina, it's  all about relaxing and enjoying quiet time between practice and meals. Here, the program is not very tightly packed, I wish for you to have plenty of time to do nothing. If you want to experience and explore more of the Moroccan culture, we are more than happy to help arrange an extra trip to Marrakech, or a trip to the beautiful Anima Garden. Or maybe you want to head out to the coast and visit Essaouira and see the beaches there. The possibilities are many. *you cover extra trips yourself, payment for these comes in addition.


We spend the mornings in silence until we finish our Movement, Meditation & Matcha practice and meet for breakfast. Come to yoga on an empty stomach. Food and coffee will be served after the morning practice


  • Transfer to and from the airport, this is driven from the airport 2-3 times, time to come. Can also be driven to Marrakech for pickup if you arrive a day or two before the retreat starts and stay in a hotel or riad here

  • 7 nights at our home away from home, which is located in the countryside and a short distance outside Marrakech, with comfortable rooms, a pool and our own staff who take care of us
